Launch of Christie MicroTiles™
– a PR “home run”

HAPR helped extend Christie's world-renowned digital cinema solutions expertise into a new industry, by generating a wave of excitement throughout the digital signage world with the introduction of Christie's MicroTiles display technology. Called "the new digital canvas," the modular MicroTiles can create display walls of any shape or size.

PR outreach to the Digital Out-of-Home media helped MicroTiles quickly gain credibility, garnering extraordinary clipping numbers, with top industry blogs picking up on the new technology as well. They also went on to become a favorite on Twitter and other social media sites.

MicroTiles continues to “win friends and influence people,” gathering numerous industry awards along the way. Our PR agency worked with the digital signage journalists and editors, who are especially fascinated with MicroTiles' flexibility, as well as the architectural community, which appreciated its potential architectural installations.

MicroTiles use on the Colbert Report and their introduction at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) resulted in a large amount of editorial coverage in print media, and hundreds of tweets pointed to stunning images of the MicroTiles in action on the Colbert Report set.

Ongoing customer success stories and numerous industry awards helped Christie MicroTiles remain a “media darling.” As a result, it consistently delivered a record number of clips almost every month through the end of the launch year, with their success in the U.S. being mirrored in Europe. Among their successful U.S. incarnations were the interactive Buzzwall at the Miami Dolphins' Sun Life Stadium in Miami and as a war memorial in Lansing Michigan. In Europe, they attracted media through their installations at Harrods in London and fashion retailer New Look's flagship store in Dublin.

New and Noteworthy

ECPAT-USA (End Child Pornography and Trafficking) is the U.S. branch of an international organization fighting sex tourism and the exploitation of children for sexual purposes. It is also involved in the protection of children within the United States.

HAPR handles ECPAT-USA's press relations, providing consultation, media outreach and press release development on a pro bono basis, as part of our "giving back to society" initiative. Among our latest projects, HAPR worked with ECPAT-USA to develop a media strategy to publicize their recent success in signing on Delta Air Lines to their anti-child trafficking Code of Conduct. Delta was the first major airline to sign The Code, which calls for the development of employee programs to help identify and combat potential child trafficking situations within its premises. HAPR successfully helped to coordinate messaging with ECPAT-USA and Delta, wrote the press release and distributed to the media that included bloggers addressing relevant issues.
